Description

Dive into a powerful marriage of flavors with Air Fryer Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wings.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 pounds Chicken Wings,
  • 2-3 tablespoons Jerk Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • 2-3 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1- inch piece Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 3-4 Green Onions, chopped
  • Olive Oil or Cooking Spray
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh Cilantro or Parsley, for garnish, optional

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the jerk seasoning, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and salt. Stir well to form a paste.
  • Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until they're well coated with the marinade. Make sure each wing is generously covered.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for the best flavor infusion.

Preheat the Air Fryer:

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat setting, simply run it empty at the required temperature.

Prepare the Wings for Air Frying:

  • Remove the chicken wings from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent the wings from sticking.

Air Fry the Wings:

  • Place the marinated chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Cook for approximately 24-28 minutes, turning the wings halfway through the cooking process to ensure they are evenly cooked and crisped.

Check for Doneness:

  • The wings should be golden brown with crispy skin when done. You can also use a meat thermometer to ensure they've reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Serving:

  • Once cooked, remove the wings from the air fryer and place them on a serving plate. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or parsley if desired.
  • Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce or as they are to enjoy the full jerk flavor!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
