  • 4-5 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 large egg, beaten, for egg wash
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting, optional
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare Apple Filling: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix well to coat the apples evenly. Let the mixture sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Roll Out Puff Pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry sheets into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference and the size of your air fryer basket.
  • Assemble the Apple Pie: Place a spoonful of the apple filling onto one half of each pastry square. Add a small piece of butter on top of the filling. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling to create a triangle or rectangle shape. Press the edges with a fork to seal the pie.
