Air Fryer Southern Style Shrimp

Description

A light and delicious batch of crispy air fryer fried shrimp. Served with either traditional comeback sauce or even a remoulade.

Ingredients 

  • 2 pounds Shrimp, Frozen XL Peeled Uncooked Shrimp (Thawed)
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Corn Muffin Mix
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tablespoon Pickle Juice
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cups Breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Butter, melted

Instructions

  • Thaw shrimp.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F using the air fryer setting.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, corn muffin mix, cornstarch, water, pickle juice, and the egg.
  • Mix well. This will be your batter bowl. 
  • In a smaller bowl, combine the bread crumbs and smoked paprika. Mix and set aside.
  • Hold it by the tail, dip each shrimp into the batter, and let any excess batter drip off. And then dip it into the breadcrumb bowl. 
  • Place each shrimp in the air fryer basket making sure they don’t touch or overlap.
  • Melt about 1 Tbsp of butter in the microwave. Then drizzle a tiny bit of melted butter on the top of each shrimp.
  • Place the air fryer basket in the air fryer and cook the shrimp for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown. 
  • Remove and serve!
