Description

Air Fryer Tortellini -- This delicious, crispy snack will indeed become a staple in your weekly menu - an easy way to please your palate with minimal time spent in the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 9 ounces tortellini, Frozen or refrigerated
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your air fryer to a temperature of 375°F (190°C). This ensures that the tortellini cooks evenly and become crispy. Preheat for 3-5 minutes, or use the preheating setting on your air fryer.
  • Place the frozen tortellini into a large bowl filled with boiled water and let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Add the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, kosher salt, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs to a small bowl, and, using a fork, whisk the egg.
  • Dip the tortellini into the egg and then into the panko mixture; shake any excess off before place into the air fryer basket. If desired, you can lightly spray or toss the frozen tortellini with a small amount of cooking oil. This helps promote crispiness. However, it's not necessary if you prefer a lighter version.
  • Insert the basket into the preheated air fryer and cook the frozen tortellini for about 10-12 minutes. Shake or flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the size and thickness of the tortellini, as well as the specific air fryer model. Open the air fryer and check the tortellini for crispiness. If they are not yet golden brown and crispy to your liking, you can continue air frying for an additional 1-2 minutes until desired texture is achieved.
  • Once the frozen tortellini are crispy and golden, carefully remove them from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving dish. Serve with dipping sauce: If desired, serve the air-fried tortellini with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara sauce, pesto, or creamy garlic sauce. This adds an extra layer of flavor to the dish.
