Homemade Nacho Cheese Sauce --- We all know nachos are the ultimate game-day food. But did you know that they are also really easy to make at home? This recipe for homemade nacho cheese sauce is so simple and tastes so much better than store-bought!

Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese,, shredded cheddar cheese, or another shredded cheese
  • 1/5 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional

Instructions

  • Over medium-high heat, in a large saucepan, add your butter. Then whisk in the flour and cayenne pepper. If using, continue to simmer until a rue is formed.
  • Then mix in your milk, continuing to stir, until it's at a small simmer. Remove from heat, and mix in the cheese. Continue to stir until the cheese is fully melted.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!
