Homemade Spaghetti Sauce Recipe -- An Italian dish is a must for any holiday meal. The homemade spaghetti sauce recipe can be made in minutes on the stovetop and is simple to make.

Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 48 ounces tomatoes, crushed
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Make the marinara sauce by heating 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a small pan over medium heat.
  • Once hot, add onion and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.
  • Add garlic, and sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Next, add in tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, and cook for another minute. Finally, add the canned tomatoes and leave to cook for 20 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve as desired.
