Ingredients 

Chicken:

  • 1 1/2 pounds Boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Honey Sesame Sauce Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Garnish: Optional

  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds
  • 1 stalk green onion, sliced

Instructions

  • Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper, then toss them in cornstarch until fully coated. Shake off any excess.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (about 190°C). Place the coated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket, being careful not to overcrowd. Spray a light coat of cooking spray or drizzle a bit of oil over the chicken pieces.
  • Cook the chicken for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Shake the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • While the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce. Combine the soy sauce, honey, ketchup, and minced garlic in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the honey and ketchup dissolve.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water, then add to the saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce the heat, and let it simmer until the sauce thickens. Stir in the sesame oil.
  • Once the chicken is done, place it in a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the chicken and toss until all pieces are evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish.
  • Serve your air fryer honey sesame chicken over a bed of rice or noodles, if desired.
