You can make them with whatever ingredients you have on hand, and they're always delicious. Recently, I discovered a new way to make scones, and it's even easier than traditional methods. All you need is an air fryer! Today, I will show you how to make air fryer currant scones. Trust me, these scones are amazing!

Ingredients 

  • 1/2 cup dried currants
  • 1 cup water

Scones:

  • 2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Butter, cold butter, grated or frozen
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  • Combine the currants and water in a small mug, and then microwave for about 5 to 10 seconds until the currants are softened and plump up.
  • Mix the flour, sugar, and salt in a small bowl. Then fold in the butter, and egg, and mix until the texture is coarse. Fold in the cream, vanilla, and currants. Mix well. Sprinkle some sugar on top. And then, set it into the air fryer for 5-9 minutes at 330 degrees F or until the currant scone is fully cooked.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!
