Description

Ingredients 

  • 15 ounces chickpeas, cooked
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon Gochugaru
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon tamari sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seed oil

Instructions

  • Start by draining and rinsing the chickpeas.
  • Add the brown sugar, Gochugaru, ginger powder, garlic powder, onion powder, tamari sauce, and sesame seed oil in a large mixing bowl. Mix well, then toss in the drained chickpeas until well coated
  • Pour the chickpeas into the air fryer basket, set the time for 15  minutes at 390 degrees F, air fryer setting.
  • Shake the basket several times as you are air frying and roasting the chickpeas.
  • Pour the chickpeas into a bowl, and toss with an additional 1-2 teaspoons of sea salt. (It depends on how salty you want them. Adjust to your taste buds.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!

Pro Tips:

  • This recipe will work in any Air Fryer Basket or Oven Model. I have made chickpeas several times in all of my Air Fryers, and this recipe will work in the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, Instant Pot Crisp Lid, and Mealthy Lid.
  • For best results, shake the basket several times during the cooking process so the chickpeas are perfectly roasted.
  • Remember, the Air Fryer works by hot air circulating the food, perfectly cooking it up. Be careful not to crowd the basket. Otherwise, you will end up with a soft batch of chickpeas.
  • Add some salt at the end for even more flavor! There is nothing better than some sea salt!
