Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
Combine granulated sugar and ½ tbsp brown sugar in a shallow casserole dish and stir to mix
Dip Both sides of the bacon in the sugar
** Depending on your air fryer, Add 3 tablespoons of water to the bottom of the air fryer basket to prevent smoking from cooking the bacon. We use an instant pot vortex**
Place bacon into the air fryer in a single layer and cook for 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare French toast sticks. In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, flavored cream, and maple extract. Whisk well. Transfer to a shallow baking dish.
Remove the crust from the bread, then use a rolling pin to lightly flatten each slice of bread.
Remove bacon from the air fryer basket and cut into 1” pieces. Add to a food processor and pulse to form a crumb mixture. Alternatively, place bacon into a Ziploc baggie and crush it into fine crumbs. Add bacon crumbs to a shallow baking dish with the remaining brown sugar.
Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F.
Dip bread into the eggs, then dip one side in crumbled candied bacon. Tightly roll into a log and place on a baking sheet as you work.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray and add French toast sticks in a single layer with half of an inch of space in between. Cook for 4 minutes, turn over and cook for 2 more minutes.
Arrange French toast sticks on a platter and serve with maple syrup as dip. Enjoy!
