Description

Today, I made a traditional Irish Soda bread filled with raisins and caraway seeds. This came out so amazing in the air fryer!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Start by soaking the raisins for about 10 to 15 minutes in the buttermilk.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, caraway seeds, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix in the buttermilk, raisins, and pure vanilla extract. Mix well, combining all of the ingredients.
  • Sprinkle some flour down on a flat surface, then transfer your dough to the floured surface. Knead the dough for about 4 to 5 minutes. If you find that your dough is still sticky, add some more flour until it sticks together.
  • Place the dough into the air fryer basket, make an X on the dough. This will help the steam escape, creating a moist and delicious loaf of bread.
  • Set the temperature to 350 degrees F, air fryer setting for 25-30 minutes. When you can insert a toothpick into the dough’s center, and it comes out clean, remove it from the air fryer.
  • Plate, serve and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer, or Ninja Foodi
  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper
