I used to eat them all the time, but now that I am on keto, they are no longer an option. However, making a copycat version of this delicious sandwich at home is easy with an air fryer! This recipe will walk you through how to make your own air fryer sausage McGriddle sandwiches so you can have them any time without breaking your diet!

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 8 ounces mozzrella cheese
  • 2 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 large egg

McGriddle Filling:

  • 4 large sausage patty (cooked)
  • 4 large eggs, scrambled or fried
  • 8 pieces cooked bacon
  • 4 tablespoons sugar-free maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Microwave the mozzarella and cream cheese together in a medium bowl. 

  2. Microwave first for one minute, stir, and then microwave for another 30 seconds. Cheeses should be well combined.

  3. Add almond flour to the cheese mixture. 

  4. Also, add the egg, but be sure that the cheese mixture is not very hot but still workable, so you do not cook the egg.

  5. Stir the ingredients all together and knead if necessary to incorporate the ingredients.

  6. Press dough into a flat rectangle between two pieces of parchment paper.

  7. Using a biscuit cutter or a cup, cut out the circles for your McGriddle' bread'.

  8. Spray your 'bread' with cooking spray and air fry at 400F for 7 minutes, flip, and then air fry for seven more minutes. The 'bread' is done when it is browned and crispy.

  9. Next, spread some sugar-free maple syrup on top of the copycat McGriddle' bread'.

  10. Assemble your copycat McGriddle with sausage, egg, cheese, and bacon.

  11. Plate, serve, adn enjoy!
