Cook the ziti according to package instructions until just al dente. Drain well and return to the pot.
Spray your baking dish with cooking spray. Add the drained pasta to a large bowl, and add the marinara sauce, 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella, and 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese; add the Italian seasoning.
Transfer the ziti mixture to the saucepan and simmer for 1-2 minutes; fold in the rest of the cheese.
Add the panko, melted butter, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl and mix well.
Sprinkle the panko on top of the casserole.
Preheat your air fryer to 330 degrees F (165°C) for 3-5 minutes. Once preheated, carefully place the pan in the air fryer basket. Set cook time for 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown on top. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model.
Let the baked ziti cool for a few minutes after cooking. Garnish with fresh basil if desired before serving.
