Description

Air Fryer Candied Lemon -- Get ready to embark on a culinary journey combining fresh lemons' vibrant flavor with a sweet and crunchy twist.

Ingredients

  • 3 whole lemons
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  • Start by thinly slicing the lemons. You can remove any seeds if necessary.
  • In a bowl, combine equal parts granulated sugar and water to create a sugar syrup. You can add lemon zest for extra flavor if desired.
  • Preheat your air fryer to a low temperature, around 250°F (120°C).
  • Dip each lemon slice into the sugar syrup, ensuring it's coated evenly.
  • Place the coated lemon slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not overlapping.
  • Air fry the lemon slices at the low temperature for about 10-15 minutes, checking periodically. The time may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the lemon slices.
  • The candied lemons are done when they become slightly translucent and the sugar syrup has crystallized on them.
  • Remove the candied lemon slices from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack. They will harden as they cool.
  • Once completely cooled, you can use the candied lemon slices as a garnish for desserts, cocktails, or other dishes.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Cooking Spray
  • Parchment Paper, optional
