Pressure Cooker, Instant Pot, Homemade Rice Pilaf

Ingredients 

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup orzo
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon dried parslsey

Instructions

  • Start by placing the butter into the Instant Pot.
  • Press the saute button
  • Pour the orzo into the Instant Pot Bowl, and saute for a couple of minutes. You are just looking for the orzo to slightly brown.
  • After about 2 minutes, pour the rice into the pot, then pour the water, stir in the garlic powder, salt, black pepper, onion powder, paprika in, and mix well.
  • Place your lid on the Instant Pot, making sure that the vent is on sealed. And set the manual high pressure for 4 minutes.
  • Once the rice has been cooked, allow a natural release, before moving the lid, Remember never force a lid off any pressure cooker or Instant Pot.
  • Remove the lid, which should easily come off if the pressure is completely let down.  Mix in the dried parsley.
  • Plate, serve and enjoy!
