Description

Nothing is better than a juicy and tender Air Fryer Mongolian Chicken dish. This is a flavorful dish and will beat any Chinese Take-out.

Ingredients 

Chicken:

  • 1 Chicken Breast, Skinless Chicken Breast, Cubed
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Mongolian Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • Optional: Serve with sliced green onions or sesame seeds

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix the salt and black pepper, flour, and cornstarch. Toss the chicken cubes until fully coated.
  • Dredge the chicken through the beaten eggs and then coat back into the flour. Repeat until all cubes are battered.
  • Spray your air fryer basket with cooking spray, and then Place cubes in the oiled air fryer basket. Spray chicken with oil and cook on 380 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway during the cooking process.
  • While the chicken is cooking, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and the garlic and ginger to the frying pan and cook for about 30 seconds. Mix in the soy sauce, sesame oil, water, and brown sugar and bring to a low simmer. Add 2 teaspoons of the cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of cold water into the mixture, bring to a low simmer for another 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Toss the chicken with the sauce. Plate, serve and enjoy!
