Description

Air Fryer Maple Cinnamon Cashews -- The sweet and nutty flavor of cashews is best when paired with a touch of salt. The perfect balance for these Air Fryer Maple Cinnamon Cashews comes from the maple syrup, cinnamon, and pinch of salt that coats each piece as it cooks in the air fryer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole cashews, (raw or roasted unsalted)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon butter, unsalted, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  • Preheat Air Fryer to 325°F and spray the basket with cooking spray.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl, tossing gently to make sure all the nuts are coated.
  • Transfer the coated nuts to the Air Fryer basket in a single layer. You may have to do this in 2 batches.
  • Air Fry at 325°F for 10-12mins, shaking the basket 2-3 times during cooking to prevent burning.
  • When done, transfer the nuts to the baking sheet and leave to cool down completely.
  • The nuts will harden and become crunchy upon cooling
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Cooking Spray, optional
  • Parchment Paper, optional

Notes

How To Make In the Oven:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl, tossing gently to make sure all the nuts are coated.
  • Spread the coated cashews evenly on the prepared baking sheet
  • Bake at 350°F for 8-10mins, stirring at least twice baking to prevent burning
  • Remove from heat, cool on a wire rack to room temperature. The nuts will harden and become crunchy upon cooling.
Notes:
  1. The nuts may feel a bit soft when just coming out of the oven or Air Fryer. Do not worry; they will get crunchy upon cooling.
  2. Maple syrup can be changed to honey.
  3. Add some cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  4. Substitute cashews for your favorite nuts, such as walnuts, pecans, almonds, etc.
  5. When cooking in the Air Fryer, do not overcrowd the Air Fryer. Cook nuts in batches if necessary.
  6. Stays fresh in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
  7. It can be used as a snack, as toppings for desserts, in granolas, or as a holiday gift.
