These apple turnovers are buttery and flaky thanks to the puff pastry and warm and comforting thanks to the apple pie filling.
Ingredients
2largeapples, peeled, cored and chopped into small pieces
1/4cupgranulated sugar
1tablespoonall-purpose flour
1tablespoonground cinnamon
1packagepuff pastry, thawed, and cut into 6 squares
Instructions
In a bowl, combine the chopped apple, sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Set aside for 10 minutes.
Spoon around 3 Tbsp of the mix into the center of the puff pastry square. Fold it over, shaping a triangle, and firmly press the edges, so they stick together. Repeat the process with the rest of the puff pastry.
Take to the air fryer and spray with the butter cooking spray—Cook at 400 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 6 minutes. Flip and cook for 5 more minutes or until golden brown.
