  • Water: Used to create steam and pressure inside the Ninja Foodi to cook the squash evenly and quickly.

Spaghetti Squash in Ninja Foodi
  • Prepare the Spaghetti Squash: Start by washing the spaghetti squash thoroughly. Then, using a sharp knife on a cutting board or flat surface, carefully cut it in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to scoop the seeds and stringy pulp from each half.
  • Add Water to Ninja Foodi: Place the trivet or a steamer rack inside the Ninja Foodi’s inner pot. Pour about a cup of water into the pot.
  • Season the Squash: Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the cut sides of the spaghetti squash. This will enhance its flavor as it cooks.
  • Arrange in the Pot: Place the prepared spaghetti squash halves, cut side down on the trivet or steamer rack inside the Ninja Foodi.
  • Pressure Cook: Close the Ninja Foodi’s lid and set the valve to the “Seal” position. Select the “Pressure Cook” function and set it to “High” pressure. Set the cooking time for 7-8 minutes. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the size of the squash; smaller squash may need less time.
  • Natural Release: Once the pressure cooking cycle is complete, allow the Ninja Foodi to perform a natural pressure release for 5-10 minutes. This helps the squash finish cooking and allows the steam to escape slowly.
  • Quick Release and Check: After the natural release, you can carefully do a quick pressure release by turning the valve to “Vent.” Once the pressure is fully released and the float valve drops, it’s safe to open the lid.
  • Scrape the Strands: Using a fork or large spoon, gently scrape the flesh of the cooked spaghetti squash to create long, spaghetti-like strands. The squash should be tender and easy to shred.
  • Serve: Transfer the spaghetti squash strands to a serving dish. If desired, drizzle the top of the spaghetti squash with olive oil for added flavor and moisture—season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Enjoy: Your Ninja Foodi spaghetti squash is now ready to serve! Enjoy it with your favorite pasta sauce, tomato sauce, pesto or as a simple, healthy side dish.

Pro Tips For Cooking Spaghetti Squash Ninja Foodi

  • Size Matters: Choose a spaghetti squash in which size of your squash fits comfortably inside your Ninja Foodi. Smaller squash may cook more quickly, so adjust the cooking time accordingly.
  • Steamer Rack: A steamer rack or trivet inside the Ninja Foodi is essential. It keeps the squash from sitting in the water, preventing it from getting mushy.
  • Seasoning: While a pinch of salt enhances the squash’s natural flavor, you can get creative with seasonings. Try adding a touch of olive oil, garlic powder, or herbs for extra taste.
  • Natural Release: Allowing the Ninja Foodi to perform a natural pressure release for a few minutes after cooking helps the squash finish cooking and maintain its texture.
  • Quick Release with Caution: When doing a quick pressure release, be cautious as hot steam will escape. Keep your hand away from the vent to avoid burns.
  • Fluff with a Fork: When scraping the cooked squash, use a fork to fluff the strands gently. This ensures you get that classic spaghetti-like texture.
  • Save the Seeds: Don’t discard the seeds and pulp you scoop out from the squash. You can clean and roast the seeds for a tasty and nutritious snack.
  • Serve Creatively: Spaghetti squash is incredibly versatile. Use it as a base for your favorite pasta sauce, toss it with pesto, or incorporate it into casseroles and salads.
  • Storage: If you have leftover cooked spaghetti squash, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • Freezing: You can also freeze cooked spaghetti squash for longer storage. Portion it into freezer-safe bags or containers and label it with the date for easy use.

With these pro tips, you’ll become a Ninja Foodi spaghetti squash expert, creating delicious and healthy dishes everyone will love. Whether cutting carbs or simply seeking a tasty veggie alternative, this method will become your go-to for perfect spaghetti squash every time.

Add grated Parmesan cheese, vegan parmesan cheese,  or shredded mozzarella cheese and fresh herbs for extra flavor. This is perfect for a low-carb diet.

  • Pesto and Cherry Tomatoes: Toss spaghetti squash strands with fresh basil pesto and halved cherry tomatoes. The vibrant flavors of the pesto and the sweetness of the tomatoes complement the squash beautifully.
  • Salads: Use cold spaghetti squash as a base for salads. Combine it with ingredients like cherry tomatoes, cucumber, feta cheese, and olives. Drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette for a refreshing side dish.
  • Stuffed Squash: Reuse the spaghetti squash shells as edible bowls. Fill them with a mixture of cooked squash strands, veggies, ground beef, and cheese. Bake until the filling is hot and the cheese is melted.
  • Creamy Alfredo: Make a creamy Alfredo sauce with butter, heavy cream, garlic, and grated Parmesan cheese. Toss the cooked spaghetti squash in this decadent sauce for a rich and indulgent treat.
  • Simple Side Dish: Serve spaghetti squash as a simple side dish alongside grilled chicken, steak, or fish. A drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of salt, and a dash of black pepper can suffice for a minimalist yet delicious side.
