Instant Pot Potato Salad

There is nothing better than an Instant Pot Potato Salad. Today, I present a straightforward recipe that combines two recipes into one, a hard-boiled egg recipe and potatoes, which will save you a ton of time since you only have to set the Instant Pot once.

If you have never made Potato Salad in the Instant Pot, it is very, very simple. And it’s the perfect side dish to go with any meal.

I will never make potato salad any other way than this Instant Pot Potato Salad! The eggs get cooked simultaneously, in one pot with potatoes that are ready to go. I don’t have to boil water and watch it cook while my hands get tired from all of these dishes waiting for me on top of them already being dirty- talk about a dream come true (I think we can call these dreams).

Mashing up those ingredients is easy because you mix everything before adding an acid like vinegar or sweetness like sugar; who has time?

Potatoes; Peel or No-Peel?

You can either make potato salad with either the skins on or off. Either will work. I like to peel the potatoes, as it makes for a smoother potato salad.

Can You Make Potato Salad Ahead Of Time?

Yes! Potato salad is one of the best dishes to make ahead of time, and you can even make it a day or two before serving.

For best results, let the potatoes cool to room temperature and then place in them an airtight container. Serve within 1 to 2 days, from preparing it.

How To Store Potato Salad Instant Pot

There are tons of different ways to make potato salad, but how do you store it? Potato salad is an excellent dish for barbecues and picnics this summer. Store the potato salad in an airtight container for best results.

How Long To Cook Potatoes For Potato Salad

Some say that boiling the potatoes until they are soft is the way to go, while others advocate for leaving them slightly firm. There are even those who insist on roasting the potatoes before adding them to the salad. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. If you prefer your potato salad on the creamy side, then boiling the potatoes until they are soft is the way to go. If you prefer a bit more texture in your salad, then leave the potatoes slightly firm. And if you want a bit of extra flavor, then consider roasting the potatoes before adding them to the salad. No matter what method you choose, remember to allow plenty of time for the potatoes to cool before adding them to the rest of the ingredients. Otherwise, your potato salad will end up mushy.

What Type of Potatoes Should I Use For Potato Salad?

Potato salad is a staple dish that you can make from any potato. The most popular potatoes for this dish are red potatoes, Russet potatoes, and Yukon Gold potatoes.

Each has its unique qualities and characteristics in taste and texture, so it’s up to you to decide which one best fits your palate. Do you like your potato salad creamy or chunky? If you want something more filling, go with the Russets but if you prefer a lighter taste, try out the Yukons!
