SOME COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT HOMEMADE AIR FRYER STEAK FRIES
WHAT STEAK SEASONING DO YOU RECOMMEND?
My family’s favorite is Montreal Steak seasoning. My kids add it to almost everything they eat, it has a great blend of spices.
You will find you can go as simple as salted to garlic and parsley. Feel free to change up seasonings to find the perfect fit
HOW MANY POTATOES DO YOU NEED FOR FRIES?
On average you can look to make 2 potatoes per person. Now, if you don’t eat a lot of fries you can factor one large potato per person.
Factor in if you are serving as a meal. If that is the case people won’t eat as many fries, as they would say as an appetizer.
HOW DO YOU REHEAT LEFTOVER FRENCH FRIES?
This is a general question; simple place the refrigerator French fries into the air fryer basket and set the timer for 5-10 minutes.
Add some olive oil if they seem dry. Meaning, toss the cold fries with olive oil, salt, and pepper and then lace into the air fryer.
By reheating in the air fryer, it helps to keep a crispier texture. Whereas microwaving would sog up the fries.
BEST POTATOES TO USE FOR FRENCH FRIES?
Russet potatoes are what I recommend using when you go to make a homemade fry.
They contain less water than other varieties so you get a crispier texture. The starches hold up well.
You will find red potatoes, and other waxy skin potatoes will not hold up the way you want. The potatoes can dry out and break down too much
HOW TO SERVE UP FRENCH FRIES?
Are you a spud lover like me? You might consider these ideas on how to serve up your tasty homemade crispy fries!
Classic | Pair with hamburgers or hot dogs for a classic dish. Or even a juicy steak or chicken breast off the grill.
Loaded | Pour on chili and cheese for a tasty chili cheese fry. Or load the fries up with all your nacho toppings for a TexMex flair.
Breakfast | Potatoes are always welcome at breakfast. Consider making these then pairing with all your favorites. Eggs, bacon, etc., it’s a fantastic pair! If you like over-easy eggs, put one on top of the fries to soak it up.
There are so many more ways to serve up your fries, this just skims they surface
Tips For The Best Air Fryer Steak Fries–
- Do not crowd the basket. They will not cook correctly. Single-layer is best.
- Batch cook fries if you need them. The store cooked fries in a single layer on the pan and keep in the oven at 200 degrees. This will keep them warm. If you stack on top of each other, they can sog up.
- Sprinkle some salt over the fries. After they are done cooking, add some other spices.
- If you feel that the fries are drying out during the air frying time, spritz some olive oil on them will bring them back to life.
- Make sure that you dry the potatoes before air frying them. The drier the potato before adding the olive oil and spices, the better they will crisp up.
