With the holidays coming up, I started to think about what would be great show-stoppers for your guests. These are really easy to make. Pie goes great with Thanksgiving, so I thought this would be the perfect recipe. Today, I made a batch of Air Fryer Mini Blueberry Galettes.
This recipe is so much easier and faster than traditional blueberry pie served at Thanksgiving. And better yet, if you do not like blueberry pie filling, change it out for cherry, apple, raspberry, even pumpkin. And did I mention it is easy?
So, if you are scratching your head, wondering what exactly a galette is? I actually saw these first at a local pastry shop. When I saw these, I knew they would be perfect for the air fryer.
What Is A Galette?
A galette is a French pastry that is an open pie. Meaning it does not have a top crust. Rather the sides are folded up. You can fill a galette with anything. I typically make them with fruit filling. But that is only because my family loves a great fruit pie, but you can use other fillings.
I plan on making some savory galettes in the future. Because, especially as the colder weather comes, I tend to cook heavier meals. I believe that the galette would be a great alternative to traditional casseroles. Plus, they should air fry up perfectly.
