Air Fryer Lemon Poppy Seed Donuts are amazing. I made a batch today while my kids were doing school. They are light, airy, and delicious.
Typically everyone makes a lemon poppy seed muffin, which I have made in the air fryer, and they come out amazing as well. But everyone loves a great donut, so today, I made a simple batch.
These donuts are packed with flavor. The lemon flavor is a perfect treat, especially when you have a hot cup of coffee while you are eating them! Perfect!
Air Fryer Lemon Poppy Seed Donuts
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Simple Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, poppy seeds, and salt.
- In another mixing bowl, mix the butter, egg, sugar, milk, sour cream, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Mix well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mix well.
- Spray your donut pan with olive oil spray or non-stick cooking spray.
- Spoon your batter into the donut cavities, filling about 2/3 way full.
- Set the filled donut pan into the air fryer, and set the temperature to 320 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Let cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar.
- Plate, serve, and enjoy!
