Trader Joe’s Shrimp

Whether you are a Trader Joe’s regular customer or are just starting to try out their products, one thing is for sure…Trader Joe’s Shrimp is awesome! Cooking it in the air fryer takes it to a whole new level too! It’s always crispy when air fried only without all the oil that fried shrimp requires.

You can make this air fryer shrimp tempura as an appetizer if you are entertaining or an easy weeknight meal. Either way, you barely have to do any work!

How To Air Fry Tempura Shrimp

Step 1: Add shrimp to basket

Spray the air fryer basket with some olive oil spray. Add the frozen shrimp to the tray or basket (depending on your model of air fryer) and make sure they aren’t touching.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have to use Trader Joe’s shrimp?

Don’t worry, if you don’t live in a location where there is a Trader Joe’s you can still make this dish. There are plenty of other brands out there to choose from. Some common brands are Aldi Tempura Shrimp, Kirkland Tempura Shrimp, and Costco Tempura Shrimp.

Is air fryer shrimp tempura pre-cooked?

In most cases, the shrimp has been pre-cooked, but you will have to read the packaging.

Do I need to thaw shrimp?

Nope! This air fryer shrimp tempura recipe is best when you use frozen shrimp. If you thaw it, it won’t cook evenly.

Can you save leftover air fryer tempura shrimp?

Yep! I will warn you though, air fryer tempura shrimp tastes better when you eat it freshly cooked.
