Greek Yogurt

You must use Greek yogurt in this recipe since it’s thicker than regular yogurt. Greek yogurt has been strained, and therefore more of the liquid has been removed.

I have noticed that the brand of Greek yogurt makes a difference. I have used both Fage and Stonyfield yogurt with great success.

A great tip for making even more varieties of yogurt would be to use the flavored varieties of Greek Yogurt.

Self-Rising Flour

Self-Rising Flour is a combination of all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. If you do not have any, you can easily make your own. Here is an easy recipe:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Texture of Dough

The texture of the dough is one of the most important variables in this recipe. After you know your dough, you need to make sure that it stays together. If you need to add more yogurt, add it, you may need to add more flour.

The dough should easily come together.

Can I Double Or Triple The Recipe?

Yes, this is a great recipe. You can double or triple the recipe. I often make a large batch on Sunday and then eat them for the rest of the week.

How To Store

The best way to store these bagels is to keep them at room temperature. Otherwise, they may get gummy. So, add them to an airtight container or resealable bag. And leave on the counter.

They will last between 2 to 3 days.

How To Freeze

This is a great recipe to freeze ahead of time to make a double batch and freeze some of the bagels.

Let them cool to room temperature and then place them into a freezer bag; they will last 2 to 3 months.

To use, either thaw them in the refrigerator or on the counter until thawed, and you can reheat them in the microwave or air fryer. Heat until warmed through.

Can You Toast A Bagel In Air Fryer

Yes, ditch your toaster, and place your bagels into the air fryer. You can air fry at 370 degrees F for a couple of minutes to get a perfectly toasted bagel.
