How To Make Air Fryer Double Chocolate Muffins

Melted Chocolate Air Fryer Double Chocolate Muffins

Start by melting the butter and chocolate squares in the microwave. Mix in the egg, buttermilk, sugar, egg, vanilla, and mix well. Then mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Chocolate Chip Muffin Batter

Once the mixture is all mixed, fold in the chocolate chips.

Spray your muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray.

Spoon in the batter. Then place the muffin tin into the air fryer basket or tray and set the temperature to 320 degrees F for 11 minutes. Place a toothpick through the middle of the muffin; if it comes out clean, it’s cooked through; if not, add another 1-2 minutes.

Pro Tips:

  • For best results, use a great brand of chocolate squares and chocolate chips. I would recommend Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares.
  • Do not over-mix the muffin batter. Otherwise, you will end up with dense muffins. Once all of the ingredients are combined, stop mixing.
  • If you want to add even more layers of flavor, you can add a tablespoon to 2 tablespoons o coffee to the batter.
  • Since every air fryer cooks slightly differently, check on the muffins frequently during the cooking process.
  • For best results, use a muffin tin rather than silicone muffin liners.

How to Store

These make for the perfect make-ahead breakfast on those busy days. You can easily make these the night before and then reheat them the next morning for a quick breakfast option.

To Store: Let the muffins cool to room temperature, and then place them into an airtight container or a Ziploc Bag. They will last for about 2 to 3 days at room temperature. It would be best to place them into the refrigerator any longer, where they will last for about a week.

How to Freeze

You can also freeze this batch of Air Fryer Double Chocolate Muffins for a great freezer-ready breakfast or dessert.

Let them cool to room temperature, and then place them into a freezer-safe container or a freezer bag. They will last about 2 months in the freezer.

You can either defrost at room temperature or overnight in the refrigerator.

Reheat the muffins in the microwave or air fryer before serving.

Best Muffin Tins For The Air Fryer

I know you’re probably not thinking about muffin tins when you think of an air fryer.

Muffin tins are a staple kitchen item in every household. They come in all shapes and sizes, and it’s hard to know which one is best for your needs. If you’re looking for the perfect muffin tin that will make cooking with an air fryer easier, some of my favorites are (affiliate links included)
