Air Fryer Copycat Dunkin Donuts Chocolate Glazed Donuts are amazing. They are my favorite donuts that I have made thus far in the air fryer. They are these if you want to branch out to other types of donuts after making the famous Air Fryer Biscuit Donuts.

Most of my readers know I am from Boston, where Dunkin Donuts is on every corner. When I moved to Philadelphia, I missed my daily drive-by, and of course, besides the coffee, I missed getting a Dunkin Donut Glazed Chocolate Donut.

Donuts in the Air Fryer are impressive; today, I used yeast, and if you have time to spare, they are a great afternoon or evening treat. Most of the time is waiting for the dough to rise, so once you make the dough, you can forget about it for a while. I usually start the donuts before dinner and finish after dinner for a quick dessert since they air fry so quickly.

Some of my other air fryer donut recipes include Air Fryer Fruity Pebbles Donuts and one of my favorite creations, Air Fryer Strawberry Jelly Donuts.

Air Fryer Donuts

If you have ever whipped a batch of fresh homemade donuts, you will already know that they are warm and tender on the inside. They are amazing, with a homemade chocolate glazed pour on top of them.

These taste almost like the Copycat Version of Dunkin Donuts without even leaving your kitchen. Most of the ingredients, if not all, are probably in your pantry or refrigerator.

Start by making the dough. In a large mixing bowl, add the milk, yeast, and one tablespoon of sugar. Wait for about 10 minutes for it to start to foam. Add sugar, egg, melted butter, and egg. Stir until completely combined. Using a dough hook, add the flour slowly, allowing it to mix at low speed until the dough starts to come together.

Once mixed, increase speed to medium and knead it until dough forms into a ball. Place the dough in a large oiled bowl and cover with a damp towel. Let the dough double in size for about an hour.

Once the dough has been raised, remove and roll it out on a floured surface until it is 1/2 thick. Using a circle cutter or a wide-mouth mason jar, cut 10-12 donuts out. Using a smaller hole cutter, punch out a hole in each donut.

Some Common Questions Asked About Making Air Fryer Donuts

How To Shape Air Fryer Donuts

There are two ways to shape donuts. First, use any glass or a biscuit cutter on hand—anything circular works.

The most important is to make each donut the same size so they all air fry up simultaneously. I usually make one batch for regular-sized donuts and one batch for donut holes, which you make from the excess dough.

How to make Donut Glaze

Since you want an easy frosting or glaze for your donuts, I chose chocolate glaze today.

Since I was making a copycat version of Dunkin Donuts Chocolate Glaze Donuts, I used a simple mixture of butter, milk, light corn syrup, vanilla extract, and bittersweet chocolate powdered sugar.

I used the recipe on Alton’s Brown site for his famous glaze. If you have not used it, it’s amazing.
