Pro Tips For Making Homemade Whole Pie In Air Fryer

Making a whole pie in the air fryer can yield delicious results, and here are some pro tips to ensure success:

    • Choose the Right Pie Dish: Opt for a pie dish that fits comfortably inside your air fryer basket without touching the sides. A dish that is too large may cause the crust to overcook or the filling to spill over.
    • Use Parchment Paper: Line the bottom of the pie dish with parchment paper to prevent the crust from sticking and make it easier to remove slices after baking.
    • Create Vent Holes: Make sure to create vent holes in the top crust of the pie to allow steam to escape during baking. This prevents the filling from becoming too liquid and helps to avoid a soggy bottom crust.
    • Rotate the Pie: If your air fryer doesn’t have a rotating basket, consider rotating the pie halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
    • Monitor the Cooking Time: Keep an eye on the pie as it bakes and adjust the cooking time as needed. The exact cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the pie crust.
    • Cover the Edges: To prevent the crust from over-browning, you can cover the edges of the pie with aluminum foil or a pie crust shield halfway through the cooking process.

Following these pro tips, you can enjoy a perfectly baked homemade pie right from your air fryer, whether it’s cherry, apple, pumpkin, or any other delicious flavor you crave.
