Air Fryer Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Air Fryer Buttermilk Fried Chicken is such a great meal for anyone. It is one of the best dishes to make in the air fryer! Easy and absolutely delicious.


  • 2 pounds of Chicken Thighs and/or drumsticks
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 6 tablespoons sweet paprika
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 4 teaspoons dried cumin
  • 2 teaspoon celery flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard


  1. In a small mixing bowl, mix the sweet paprika, salt, black pepper, celery flakes, brown sugar, dry mustard, garlic powder, and cumin.
  2. Split the seasoning mix into 2 bowls.
  3. Rub the chicken with the seasoning mix. As you coat them with the rub, place them into a large bowl, then pour in the buttermilk.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour
  5. Then add them to the air fryer basket.
  6. Air Fry for 15 minutes at 375 degrees F, air fryer setting. Flip the chicken and air fry for another 5 to 10 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
  7. In a small mixing bowl, mix the vinegar and yellow mustard.
  8. Then rub the chicken with the vinegar and mustard sauce. Rub on more some of the dry rub.
  9. Plate, serve, and enjoy!
