Air Fryer Breakfast Pizza is one of my favorite and easy air fryer breakfast recipes. I love to cut a slice of it off and hand them to my kids as they head off to school. It’s a very easy recipe, with only a few steps, and it makes a wonderful air fryer breakfast.

Who doesn’t love pizza for breakfast? Everyone that’s who, today I loaded this one up with ground (cooked) sausage, scrambled eggs, and shredded cheddar cheese.

But you can use whatever you want! Want to make it a vegan breakfast pizza,? Remove the meat, or add vegan meat. Anything works and that is why this recipe is so great!

You really need to pre-bake the crust in the air fryer before you load it up. Otherwise, the toppings will end up burnt, or the dough will be raw. So, take a few minutes and do that extra step so that you have a perfectly cooked Air Fryer Breakfast Pizza.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use bacon instead of sausage for breakfast pizza?

Yes, all you need to do is use cooked bacon or even bacon bits and scatter them on the breakfast pizza. I liked the ground sausage because it’s a great and easy copycat recipe for my famous Air Fryer Breakfast Casserole.

What type of cheese do you use for breakfast pizza?

Today, I used simple cheddar cheese, but you really can use any cheese that would melt. Some of the popular ones would be Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded Colby Jack, Provolone, Asiago, Gouda or Fontina.

What is the best crust to use for the air fryer?

I used crescent rolls that I had in my refrigerator, but you can use the crescent sheets and cut the excess. Anything you want that will puff up in the air fryer cooking process.

Can you make air fryer breakfast pizza ahead of time?

I recommend making this on the same day that you want to eat it, otherwise, the crust might get soggy. You can eliminate some work by cooking the scrambled eggs and frying up the ground sausage ahead of time.

Substitutions and Variations

This is really a base recipe, meaning that you can change it out for any of your favorite toppings. Here are some great ideas for a different air fryer breakfast pizza:

  • Crust: If you do not have the crescent dough, use pizza dough or even Pillsbury Pizza Crust.
  • Sausage: You don’t have to sausage. Try using bacon or a combination of bacon and sausage.
  • Vegetables: This is a great place to load up on your vegetables, add some sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach anything that you want.
  • Cheese: Change out the Cheddar cheese for anything that you want.
  • Gluten-Free: Looking for an easy Gluten-Free Air Fryer Breakfast Recipe? Change to the crust for a gluten-free pizza crust.

Storage Tips

Make Ahead

I recommend making this on the same day that you want to eat it, otherwise, the crust might get soggy.

What you could do is cook the scrambled eggs and fry up the ground sausage—this way, you have already done half the work.

The other option would be to make the pizza crust the night before and your toppings (the scrambled eggs and the ground sausage), Then assemble it in the air fryer.

Refrigerator

If you have any leftover pizza, just place the breakfast pizza into an airtight container, and place the container into the refrigerator.

Reheat

To reheat from the refrigerator: Place your leftovers into the air fryer basket, and set the temperature to 300 degrees F for about 3-5 minutes. Remove when it’s hot.

For extra flavor, I would add some more fresh shredded cheese.

Freezer

If you want to make a batch ahead of time and freeze them. Assemble the pizzas after you air fry them.

To freeze them, place them on a baking sheet and then pop the baking sheet into the freezer. When the breakfast pizzas are frozen solid, remove them from the freezer and pop them into a freezer bag.

They will last about 1-2 months in the freezer.

To air-fry from frozen, put the frozen breakfast pizza into the air fryer basket, and set the temperature to 350 degrees F, and air fry for 5-10 minutes, or until warmed.

What to Serve with Air Fryer Breakfast Pizza

If you are looking for something to serve this with, I usually serve it with a big fresh fruit bowl. But it goes really well with a big bowl of Air Fryer Shredded Hashbrowns or even Air Fryer Hash Brown Patties.
