Banana Walnut Pound Cake is the perfect combination of favors, today, I added walnuts, but you can change that out for any of your favorite nuts.

Banana Walnut Pound Cake

As light and fluffy as traditional banana bread, this cake will prove to be one of your favorite Air Fryer Breakfast Recipes. Made with ripe bananas and sweeter with diced walnuts, you get all of the flavors.

The Air Fryer does an amazing job of keeping the bread moist while it bakes up. Creating a perfect and delicious treat for the entire family.

  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Eggs
  • Ripe Bananas
  • Pure Vanilla Extract
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Sour Cream
  • Baking Soda
  • Walnuts

How To Make Air Fryer Banana Walnut Pound Cake

Cream Butter and Sugar in Bowl

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar, then add the egg, followed by the banana, sour cream, and vanilla extract, and mix well.

In another mixing bowl, mix the flour and baking soda. Mix the two mixtures, mix well, so they combine. Fold in the diced walnuts, and mix again.

Spray your baking pans with olive oil. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, about 2/3 way full.

Set the pan into the air fryer, and set the temperature to 320 degrees F for 20 minutes.

When the time is up, place a toothpick in the pound cake, and check to see that the toothpick comes out clean. If not, add another 5 minutes.

CAN YOU PUT TOO MUCH BANANA IN BANANA BREAD?

The key to great banana bread is ratios. Since bananas by nature are dense, adding too many bananas to your bread will cause dense bread.

So, this recipe only calls for one, so only add one. You will get a light and fluffy loaf.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY OTHER OVERRIPE BANANAS?

I usually freeze all of my overripe bananas for use later. Some of the great things to do with them are adding them to shakes, making banana walnut muffins, or quick banana bread. 

Just remember to peel them before freezing.

DO I HAVE TO USE WALNUTS?

While today I used walnuts, you really can add any of your favorite nuts to the dish. Some of my favorites are pecans, macadamia, or a simple mix of all of the nuts. 

Use your favorite; the only thing I would suggest is that you crush or dice them before adding.

HOW TO KNOW WHEN BANANA WALNUT POUND CAKE IS DONE:

Since all air fryers cook at a different rate, the most important thing to do is to stick a toothpick into the center of the cake before removing it from the air fryer. 

If the toothpick comes out clean, remove it. If not, add a few more minutes to the timer on the Air Fryer—continue to air fry until it’s fully cooked.

STORING AIR FRYER BANANA WALNUT POUND CAKE:

If you have any banana cake left over, let it cool to room temperature, and then place it into an airtight container. Place on the counter. It will last a few days.

If you want to extend the life of the banana cake, place it into the airtight container and then place it into the refrigerator, it will last about a week.

HOW TO FREEZE AIR FRYER BANANA WALNUT POUND CAKE:

Banana Walnut Pound Cake freezes really well. This is a great air fryer make-ahead breakfast option. 

To Freeze: Let it cool to room temperature, and then either cut the banana cake into slices or keep it whole. Wrap the slices of the bread with saran wrap and then with a layer of foil. Place the banana walnut pound cake into the freezer.

To Use From Frozen: Place the frozen bread into the refrigerator or on the counter to thaw. It will usually thaw overnight in the refrigerator or for a few hours if you leave it on the counter.

While this recipe is amazing, I often like to mix in some other things into the batter. Some of my favorites are:

Description

There is nothing like a nice slice of banana bread in the morning; today, I made it with walnuts. It makes a great breakfast, with a hot cup of coffee. Quick breads do really well in the air fryer. You can also make this into a bundt cake, which would make for a pretty presentation.

Ingredients 

  • 1/2 cup butter, unsalted, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, diced
