Quiche is one of the most popular brunch foods. Quiche Lorraine, Ham, and Cheese, Spinach Quiche – all are delicious! But what about an asparagus quiche? It’s a perfect dish for vegetarians or vegans. This recipe has lots of fresh flavor with a few simple ingredients.

You can also add more flavor by adding two types of cheese – feta to add some saltiness and Parmesan for its umami flavor. The crust is made from buttery pie dough, which gives it a great texture!

How To Make Air Fryer Asparagus Quiche

ir Fryer Asparagus Quiche

Remove refrigerated pie crust from the refrigerator for about 15 minutes before preparing Quiche. Unroll pie crust dough and place your tart pan on top of the crust. Cut a circle (it doesn’t have to be perfect) about 1 inch outside the border of the tart pan.

Press the crust into the tart pan, tucking the edges down along the sides and cutting off any excess dough so that the crust is even with the top of the pan.  Place the tart pan into the air fryer’s basket and cook at 300°F, air fryer setting, for 5 minutes.

While the pie crust is cooking, trim the asparagus and cut them into bite-size pieces. Add them to a large saucepan, filled with water, and simmer until they are softened. Remove from the saucepan, drain and rinse with cold water.

Ia another both, whisk together the eggs, salt, and black pepper, toss with eth asparagus. Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust, return to the air fryer, cook for another 8 to 12 minutes, at 300 degrees F, Air Fryer Setting, or until the eggs are set.

Pro Tips:

  • For added flavor, you can add any vegetables to the quiche, I added diced bacon and peas, to mine, but you can have it with simple asparagus quiche.
  • If you want to make it light and fluffier quiche, add some milk or heavy cream into the batter, which will help it to rise.
  • Be careful not to overbake the quiche, once the center is set, remove the quiche. It will harden somewhat as it cools.
  • Do not overfill, otherwise, the air fryer will have some egg batter in it. This will cause it to smoke, fill about 2/3 the way full, it will rise, during the cooking process.

MAKING AHEAD:

For making this recipe ahead of time, I usually cook the asparagus. Then leave it overnight in an airtight container. Then the next day, I come back and prepare the Air Fryer Asparagus Quiche.

You can also cook and refrigerate the pie crust; however, I find that the next day, when I go to air fry it up, it’s a bit soggy. So, for best results, air fry the pie crust right before making your Quiche.

STORING:

Storing Quiche is a straightforward process and can be done in several ways. Like other egg-based dishes, Quiche should not sit out for long periods after it has been cooked.

So, if you have any leftover quiche, place it into an airtight container and put it into the refrigerator. It will last for about 2 to 4 days.

FREEZING:

Quiche is a great breakfast item that is amazing when you freeze it! Let it cool to room temperature, wrap it up with saran wrap and then place it into a freezer bag. It will last for about 1 to 2 months.

You can either cook from frozen or defrost in the refrigerator overnight.
