For many people, air frying is a new concept. It may even be one that you didn’t know existed until now. Air fryers are often marketed as healthier alternatives to deep-frying and with using very little oil. They are so healthy, but still, they give you lots and lots of flavors!

This is a dish that I love to make. It’s a simple breaded chicken breast, air fried, of course, and it’s perfectly cooked in the air fryer.

The topping uses fresh tomatoes, onions and mixed in some artichoke hearts I had on hand. It’s delicious, and you will get the flavor in every single bite!

What Is A Breaded Chicken Breast?

At the heart of this dish is a simple breaded chicken breast, cooked to perfection in the Air Fryer. Whether you bake, grill, or air fry your chicken breast, they are all the same thing.

Breading is the process of covering food in flour, egg, or other ingredients before cooking it. The goal of breading foods is to create a crispy outer crust without letting the inside get too moist and soggy. Some people like to fry their breaded meat with butter or oil while others, while with the air fryer, you do not need much oil.

You can use many different types of breadings, including panko, wonton wrappers, crushed corn flakes cereal, crackers crumbs, or matzo meal, among others. Breaded chicken breasts are tender pieces of poultry that have been battered with eggs and milk before being coated with any number of crunchy coatings, all cooked to perfection. Leaving the chicken tender and juicy while the outside is crispy.

How To Make Air Fryer Artichoke Chicken

Mallet with Chicken Breast

Start by cutting your breasts in half, and then use a mallet to thin your chicken. It will come out better if it’s thinner in the air fryer.

Coat Chicken WIth Mayo

Then in a small bowl, mix the herbs and panko breadcrumbs. In another bowl, make your chicken topping, mix the diced onions, minced onions, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Add the mayonnaise to a resealable bag. Then place your chicken inside the bag, coating it on both sides.

Then dip your coated chicken in the panko/herb bread crumb mix. Please place them in either a greased (with olive oil) basket or air fryer tray as you coat them. The crucial step is to spray the entire coating with olive oil if you want really crispy chicken.

Air Fryer Artichoke Chicken

Set the temperature to 370 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature of your chicken reaches 165 degrees F.

Note: When the chicken has about 5 minutes left, top with the topping, so the cheese is melted, and the artichokes are slightly roasted.
