Place the caramels, apple pie spice, and granulated sugar in a bowl.

Cream Cheese, Vanilla in Bowl with spices

Next, add the vanilla extract and the softened cream cheese to the bowl. Add the chopped apple. Mix well with a spatula. Set aside.

Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F, air fryer setting, then line the air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper.

Cut the crescent dough into smaller pieces (About  five inches across or so, you can make them as big or as small as you like – this will determine how many Danish you end up with, though.)

Then form each crescent dough piece into round flat Danish shapes, rolling up the edges like a crust. Place each piece on the parchment paper. You don’t want them to overlap or touch. (You may have to do more than one batch. I was able to fit four Danish in at a time. )

Place a heaping scoop of the caramel apple mixture right in the middle of each crescent dough piece. Place the air fryer basket into the air fryer and “air fry” the Danish for about 6-8 minutes or until golden brown.

Pro Tips:

  • These are super easy to make. They come out quickly with a soft, flaky crust & a creamy caramel apple center!
  • You can make 8 small Danish or 4 large Danish.
  • It really doesn’t matter what kind of Apple you use. However, the golden delicious variety works really well.
  • Try adding pecans on top for a variation on this yummy breakfast treat!

Some Simple Toppings For Apple Danish:

Today, I used a simple caramel drizzle,w which really goes well with this dessert since it brings out the caramel in the filling. But, you can change it out for any of your favorite toppings.

Some of my favorites suggestions are:

  • Powder Sugar Icing: 1 cup of powdered sugar and 3 to 4 tablespoons of milk, drizzle over the pastry.
  • Choate Drizzle
  • Ice Cream
  • Whipped Cream
  • As is.

Variations:

While today I used a simple apple pie filling, you can really change this in a variety of ways, including:

  • Pie Filling: Choose a variety, such as peach, apple, blueberry, blackberry, or cherry.
  • Dough: Change this out for a simple Buttermilk Biscuit dough or Pizza Dough.

How To Serve Air Fryer Caramel Apple Danish

This can be served any time of day, including breakfast, snack, or dessert. This is a great recipe for brunch, as it looks elegant, and only you and I will know that it took minutes to make!

This is a great recipe to bring to any get-together, tailgating party, and other potluck and holiday dinners and events!

Everyone will love this!

How To Store Air Fried Danish:

This danish is beset when eaten on the same day as prepared, but let them cool to room temperature if you have any leftovers.

Then place them into an airtight container, and keep them at room temperature, where they will say for about 1 to 2 days.

If you would like to freeze a batch, this recipe does wonderfully by doubling or even tripling. Then let them cool to room temperature, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Place the baking sheet into the freezer, and freeze until frozen solid. Remove and place into a freezer bag or freezer-safe container. They will last for about 1 to 2 months.

To use, either defrost at room temperature or in the refrigerator. You can reheat in the microwave or air fryer, heat until warmed. Then drizzle with caramel sauce for best results.
