Air Fryer Apple Butter Bars —It is almost fall, and there is nothing I like to do better than bake and have a great cup of pumpkin-spiced coffee while doing so.

My kids really enjoy going apple picking, and we always end up with more apples than we can eat, so I usually come up with tasty treats.

This weekend we were at a farm stand, and I came across an apple butter that they were serving on crackers. So, I purchased a jar and made a family favorite in the air fryer.

I usually cut these into bars and pass them out to the kids with a cup of milk, and they really enjoy it.

PRO TIPS FOR THIS RECIPE

  • Measure your flour correctly. Otherwise, the mixture will not work out. If you need help on how to measure, there is a great guide here.
  • Make sure to coat your baking pan thoroughly so that bars easily slip out.
  • Please wait a few minutes before cutting them so that the icing can dry somewhat.
  • Make sure that you watch these as they cook up. Since every air fryer is slightly different, you want to ensure they are perfect.
  • This recipe will work in the Ninja Foodi, Instant Pot Vortex, GoWise, PowerXL, and other air fryer baskets and oven models.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN AN APPLE BUTTER BAR IS DONE?

They are done when the baked goods start to set. I usually stick a toothpick in my baked good’s center to ensure it’s fully cooked.

Since every air fryer is slightly different, it’s important to do this. Otherwise, you may end up with raw dough in the center. Remember to bake until it’s fully cooked. If the top starts getting too browned, add a piece of aluminum foil to the top, and continue to bake.

HOW CAN I STORE THESE?

These are easy to store. Let them cool to room temperature, and then place them into an airtight container or a freezer bag.

They will last at room temperature for about 2 to 3 days. For any longer, cover and place into the refrigerator.

CAN I FREEZE THESE?

These can easily be frozen for a great quick dessert or breakfast ahead of time. To freeze, let them cool to room temperature and then place them into a freezer bag or container. They will last for 1 to 2 months.

To eat from frozen, let them thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator until thawed. Then you can heat them in the microwave or air fryer before serving.

WHAT PAN CAN I USE?

I would highly recommend that you use a thinner pan than you are used to since the air fryer needs to cook them up fully.

I recommend the following pan, which will fit in most air fryer baskets or oven models. (affiliate link included)
