S’mores Hand Pies {Air Fryer}
  • Pie Dough: Use either homemade or store-bought pie dough. The secret is to keep the dough cold, while you prepare the hand pies.
  • Graham Cracker: You can either purchase graham cracker crumbs or purchase graham crackers and crush them.
  • Marshmallows: Use either mini marshmallows, or use large marshmallows, and dice them small.
  • Chocolate: Use either mini chocolate chips or a chocolate bar (Hershey’s) that you dice.
  • Egg Wash: Nothing will make the dough crisp up in an air fryer as well as an egg wash. Use a large egg, and water, and mix well.

How To Cook S’mores Hand Pies In The Air Fryer

Prepare The Dough: Start by laying out your dough on a floured surface. Use your biscuit cutter and make your circles. Choose a size that will allow you to put in a few tablespoons of filling. Remove the excess dough from the counter, and set it aside (as you will roll that later to make more hand pies)

Prepare The Filing: Use a spoon and scoop some crushed graham crackers. The first one is the hardest, as you will need to experiment on how much filling to use, which will depend on your circle’s size. Note: I used 1 tablespoon per hand pie–graham crackers crumbs. Then add the broken chocolate bar and mini marshmallows.

Make The Egg Wash: In a small bowl, mix the egg white and water and beat until it’s well combined.

Summertime is the perfect time for cookouts and picnics. And there’s no better way to finish off a summer meal than with some delicious s’mores hand pies. Follow these pro tips to make the best air-fried s’mores hand pies ever!

  • Crowding: For best results, do not crowd the air fryer basket, leave plenty of room around the hand pies, so the dough cooks up perfectly.
  • Flipping: Depending on the air fryer that you are using, you may need to flip the hand pies, halfway through the cooking process.
  • Timing: Since every air fryer is slightly different the timing will be different, so check on your hand pies frequently as they cook up.
  • Sealing: Use the fork tines, and press firmly, so the dough stays together. Otherwise, the filling will leak out. Be careful not to overfill.
