How To Make Crispy Chickpeas in the Air Fryer:

So you want to make crispy chickpeas for a snack, but don’t have the oven on? Try making them in an air fryer! This method of cooking is great because it makes your food taste like it was deep fried without actually having to do so. Best of all: these are baked with hardly any oil added!
So you’ve got some time and want to experiment with something new. Maybe you’re just looking for a healthier option that still tastes delicious enough to eat as a snack or side dish. Either way, this recipe is perfect for you!

Pro Tips:

  • Drying the chickpeas is a crucial step. You want them as dry as possible, so drain with colander and let it rest for some time to achieve this goal
    A few key points about drying:
  • First- You must start by draining any liquid from them;
  • Second: They should be spread out on paper towels or an absorbent surface such as a kitchen towel, or paper towels on your counter, place the drained chickpeas on top of the towel, and cover with another kitchen towel. Leave them there for about 20-30 minutes.
  • Then after you have dried the chickpeas out as much as you can. You need to really coat them with olive oil. This helps the air fryer crisp up the chickpeas. I usually use my hands, and make sure they are coat, with both the olive oil and spices. This will help your chickpeas crisp to perfection!

How To Store:

After roasting them and eating as much of the cooked food that you want, let it cool down for about an hour at room temperature before storing. Store them in an open container or jar. One suggestion from readers has been to store them in a brown paper bag.

How to Long Will Roasted Chickpeas Last?

They will last only about 3 to 4 days. Obviously the longer they sit, the less fresh they become, they are really the best on the first day. After about the first day, you will notice that they have started to lose some of their crispness.
