I love making these for my kids — you can even change this recipe out and use pancake batter or biscuit dough. Fried Oreos in the air fryer taste almost like deep-fried Oreos, but they are so much healthier.

Why You’ll Love This Air Fried Oreo Recipe

  • Easy to make
  • Minimal oil and grease
  • Less messy
  • Kid-friendly
  • Ready in 20 minutes

Ingredients Needed For Air Fried Oreos

Air Fried Oreos With Crescent Rolls
  • Refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Oreo cookies
  • Melted butter
  • Cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar

I also love to make these air fryer fried Oreos with buttermilk biscuit dough. I found them made by Pillsbury — they already have butter in the dough, which makes them incredibly buttery and absolutely delicious.

How To Make Air Fryer Fried Oreos

flatted biscuit dough on counter

Step 1: Roll out the dough

I usually use a cutting board, or my counter, as it’s flat. If you find that the dough starts to stick, sprinkle some flour on the counter or cutting board.

For fried Oreos with crescent rolls, divide the sheet of dough into 4 rectangles (two triangles each). Press along the perforation to prevent tearing. For biscuit dough, simply roll out each round until flat.

Step 2: Wrap cookies in dough

Place one Oreo cookie in the center of each dough rectangle or circle. Fold the dough over and wrap the cookie inside the dough. Continue wrapping all of your Oreos until you have used all of the dough. Pinch the ends together so they do not open during the cooking process.

Coat each dough ball in melted butter, then roll in cinnamon.

Step 3: Cook

Spray the basket with olive oil cooking spray. This way, the biscuit dough will not stick to the basket. As you finish rolling the Oreos, place them in the greased air fryer basket. Set the temperature to 380 degrees F for 8 minutes (air fryer setting).

Remove fried Oreos from air fryer and sprinkle with powdered sugar while they are still warm. Serve hot and enjoy!

Pro Tips:

  • Use your preferred dough. You can make fried Oreos with crescent rolls, biscuit dough, or even pancake batter! I like to use refrigerated tubes to save time, but you can use a homemade recipe if you prefer.
  • Don’t crowd the basket. Leave space between each dough-wrapped Oreo so they cook evenly and don’t stick to each other.
  • Work in batches. If your air fryer basket is small, you may need to make a couple at a time. Wrap the cookies at once, then pop the extra in the fridge in between cooking each batch.
  • Add butter and cinnamon last. Do this just before you cook fried Oreos in the air fryer. Otherwise, the butter will soak into the dough and they won’t come out as flaky or crispy.
  • Try different Oreos. This air fried Oreo recipe works with regular, Double Stuf, Mega Stuf, and even flavored varieties. I also like to use the holiday versions for a colorful surprise.

Serving Suggestions

What’s not to love about fried Oreos? These delicious cookies are perfect for any party or gathering, and they’re really easy to make.

Air fryer fried Oreos are best served warm. These are so good right out of the air fryer — as they cool down, the flavor starts to go away. Serve them with a generous coating of powdered sugar.

How Long Will Air Fried Oreos Last?

I recommend serving air fryer fried Oreos on the same day as you make them for the best results and taste. As they cool down, the flavors start to diminish and the dough becomes less flaky. If you have any leftovers, let them cool and then place them into an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Can You Reheat Fried Oreos in Air Fryer?

Yes, place them back into the air fryer basket and air fry at 300 degrees F until warmed through.

Do You Have To Freeze Oreos Before Frying?

No, these cookies do not need to be frozen before you air fry them. Because they cook with circulated hot air instead of oil, they won’t melt or get soggy before they are done.
