Pro Tips

Here are some pro tips for making Air Fryer Zucchini Casserole:

  • Evenly slice the zucchini: Use a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife to ensure the slices are evenly cut. This will help them cook more uniformly in the air fryer.

  • Precook the zucchini: To prevent the casserole from becoming too watery, precook the zucchini slices in the air fryer for a few minutes before assembling the casserole. This helps remove excess moisture and ensures a creamy texture.

  • Layer the ingredients: Assemble the casserole in layers, alternating between zucchini slices, cheese, and other ingredients like tomatoes or onions. This creates a delicious and well-balanced flavor throughout the casserole.

  • Season generously: Season each casserole layer generously with salt, pepper, and any other herbs or spices you choose. This enhances the dish’s flavor and ensures that each bite is delicious.

  • Cover with foil: To prevent the cheese from burning during cooking, cover the casserole dish before placing it in the air fryer. This helps create a steamy environment that melts the cheese evenly.

  • Check for doneness: Keep an eye on the casserole as it cooks in the air fryer, and use a fork to test the zucchini for tenderness. Cook until the zucchini is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Let it rest: Allow the casserole to rest for a few minutes after removing it from the air fryer. This allows the flavors to meld together, making it easier to slice and serve.

  • Customize toppings: Before serving, add any desired toppings, such as chopped fresh herbs, breadcrumbs, or a drizzle of balsamic glaze, to enhance the dish’s flavor and texture.

By following these pro tips, you can make a delicious and flavorful Air Fryer Zucchini Casserole that’s sure to impress!
