Air fryers have been around for years, but they are slowly gaining popularity as people discover how convenient they can be.

Today, with the fresh tomatoes in season, I wanted to give you a true summer meal, snack, or appetizer, which fits the bill. Made with vineyard tomatoes, fresh basil, and a great crispy toast underneath.

It’s a family favorite, kid-friendly, and astutely declined way to make a great appetizer for those hot summer days and nights! Of course, your kitchen will not get hot with the Air Fryer.

What Is Bruschetta?

Bruschetta is a classic Italian appetizer perfect for your next dinner party. It’s made from tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil.

Once it’s all done marinading, you can serve it on either French bread or crackers to soak up all of the delicious juices. The Air Fryer makes it unique since the bread is perfectly toasted.

Bruschetta is also an easy recipe to make beforehand, so you don’t have to worry about cooking at the last minute!

Then thinly slice the basil, and add it to the tomatoes. Mix in the shredded Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Let’s sit while you prepare the bread.

Grab the roll of French bread while your mixture is marinating. Slice your bread, and as you slice them, place it in a greased, with olive oil spray. Spray the top of the bread with olive oil spray.

Set the air fryer temperature to 250 degrees F, air fryer setting, for 3 minutes. Using tongs to remove the bread slices, top with the bruschetta topping.

WHAT KIND OF BREAD IS USED FOR BRUSCHETTA?

The question of what kind of bread is used for bruschetta may seem difficult to answer. But, with the help and expertise of our in-house chefs, we’ve come up with some great suggestions for your next party!

Some of my favorites are:

French Bread, Sour Dough Bread, Italian Bread, and Artisan Bread.

Most grocery stores, including Wegmans, Kroger, and even Costco, have great bread selections.

HOW DO YOU PICK A GOOD TOMATO?

Tomatoes are one of the most popular vegetables, and for good reason. They’re versatile, they taste great, and kids love them! But when you go to your local grocery store or farmer’s market, there are so many different varieties it can be hard to choose which ones will give you the best flavor.

My best advice would be to look for firm tomatoes with no bruises; two words of wisdom would be plump and firm.

WHAT VARIETY OF TOMATOES WORKS BEST FOR BRUSCHETTA?

It’s tomato season, and you’re thinking about what to make for dinner. Bruschetta is a popular choice, but which variety of tomatoes should you use?

The best tomatoes to use are anything that is fresh; you can use ripe vine tomatoes or even Heirloom tomatoes!
