Tips for the Best Air Fryer Chinese Egg Rolls

If you’re looking for an easy and delicious appetizer, look no further than air fryer Chinese egg rolls. These little treats are crispy on the outside and filled with delicious veggies and pork. Follow these tips to make the best egg rolls every time.

  • Crowding: For best results leave plenty of space around the egg rolls, which will allow for the hot air to circulate around the egg rolls.
  • Flipping: Depending on the air fryer that you are using, you may need to flip the egg rolls halfway during the cooking process.
  • Sealing: Make sure that your egg rolls are fully sealed, before adding them to the air fryer basket. Otherwise, they may break open. Use a pastry brush and water, to seal the egg rolls.
  • Egg Wash: I used an egg wash (one beaten egg yolk) to brush on the egg rolls, this really helps them crisp up, and achieve the golden brown color. You can also spray cooking spray on top of them, which will also help them turn golden brown.
  • Timing: Since every air fryer is slightly different, it’s important to watch your egg rolls while they cook up. Check on them frequently.

Make Ahead and Freezing Homemade Air Fryer Egg Rolls

If you love egg rolls, then you’ll love this easy make-ahead and freezing technique. It’s the perfect way to have a quick and delicious snack on hand any time. Best of all, there’s no need for a deep fryer – your air fryer does the job perfectly!

  • Make Ahead: You can either make these ahead of time and then wrap them tightly with saran wrap. They will keep for up to 10 hours, before becoming soggy. I highly recommend that if you want to make the egg rolls ahead of time, you assemble the filling, and then roll, right before air frying!
  • Storing: If you have any leftover egg rolls, let them cool to room temperature, and then place them into an airtight container. They will last for 2 to 4 days, in the refrigerator.
  • Freezing: Place parchment paper on a plate or tray then freeze for 1 hour. Remove and place in a ziplock bag. Freeze for up to 1 month. Allow to cool down completely before reheating.

How To Reheat Egg Rolls In The Air Fryer

A great way to re-crisp leftover egg rolls. To reheat in the air fryer at 320 F | 160 C until warm through.

Are Egg Rolls Keto

Store-bought egg rolls are not keto friendly. They usually include Enriched Wheat Flour,  which is not keto friendly. You can however make your own keto-friendly egg roll wrappers, here is my favorite recipe!
